EX5105 Rare Gorham Sterling Punch Ladle An exotic and rare sterling silver punch ladle circa 1880 in pristine condition. The handle is a naturalistic branch with fine detail and applied apples and leaves. The leaves on the top of the handle have pierced"worm" holes and the fruit is also finely detailed. The cup shaped bowl is in the form of a leaf with ruffled edges and applied grapes and vines with a granular exterior surface. The interior has a light gold wash. The item is in original unpolished condition. This is a rare example of a Gorham ladle done in the same shape as the Narragansett pattern ladles but with punch and cider motifs. L 13 1/4" Wt. 5.85 troy ounces. SOLD |
